Behind this awkward name lies a great site. Simple, good looking, easy to comprehend and navigate. I particularly like the soothing tones. The only problem, as I said, is the name. Guys, I’m sorry to say that, but have you ever thought about how difficult it is to spell it or type it seamlessly? I assume those are your names and I don’t want to sound like a dick at all or give the wrong impression I’m actually making fun of these. But I know how frustrating it is when foreigners misspell your name. And was just thinking if you are having that problem or not.

Forget Tokyo Flash’s mostly useless, absurd looking pieces of cheaply manufactured in China shit! I know what I’m talking about. I bought the Infinity Optics Watch (it’s in Bulgarian, sorry if you can’t read it, but there is nothing you should read anyway) and threw it away in less than 6 months. That was the cheapest piece of crap I’ve bought in the past 3 years.

the clock clock by ridiculously named HUMANS SINCE 1982 studio however, is completely different story. It’s the most schizofrenic clock you will ever see! It consists of 24 clocks, looking at which for more than few seconds is guaranteed to bring flashbacks of your worst trip. To be honest, it feels scarry looking at those and am not sure if I want them around me. Reminds me of a product of some parallel 60’s post-nuclear world gone completely wrong.

The site is very simplistic as well and looks alright. But I am not even going to pick on their cross lounge. Looks too sick, even for me.

Sometimes, very rarely, I feel good being Bulgarian. It happens when I see a proof the country is not entirely full of shit, and there is some good creativity out there. Dizzart looks like a very talented bunch of product designers, that manage to produce some amazing lights. I’d love to get in touch with them and see if couple of my own fiber optic concepts can be released.

You know, I like minimalistic designs for two reasons: they are way easier to comprehend, as they don’t rely on funky-colorful-distracting shit to grab my attention; and they are easier to navigate. Designing minimalistic sites has an important benefit – it takes less time to produce and launch one. So when you draw the line, you end up with easier to navigate site, emphasizing on content rather than something useless, and all that delivered within considerably shorter term. Good job, mainstudio!

Told you in my previous post – there is no room for doubt – this is one of the cars I’d like in my garage pronto. Fiat did amazing job, read my lips again, a-ma-zing-job with the resurrection of the legend. Almost endless configuration options, colours and interior trims make it probably the most flexible car on the market. It’s not your blank, nondescript wehicle. And check this out – the entertainment system runs on Windows Mobile! Man, I really want one!

1. Mind The Background, Will Ya
   Sometimes something funny happens to browsers (Firefox 3 in this example) and they lose their default white background colour....

Few months back I was thinking about the urgent need of better small urban cars to replace the sedans and hatchbacks browsing the streets. Take a look around – on average there are maximum of 2 people in a car made for 5. On top of that, the average family has 2 or more such cars. And I think I understand why is that. The average family won’t buy a Smart or a Ligier, because these just don’t look or feel safe. And servicing them is a bitch. Hell, I won’t buy them either!

But I’ll gladly get an iQ – a car in which you won’t feel lacking what you are used to, and more important – a car that won’t make you feel like sitting in a matchbox. And believe me, this is something very important. Knowing how much more spacious the Yaris is, compared to a larger car like the Mégane, I believe Toyota might have done the impossible with the iQ – accomodate 4 passengers comfortably. Well, probably not American passengers, as there is a pretty good chance that no more than two average American bums will fit in. That is why the car won’t go there yet. There is a concept for electric vehicle, that looks like it, though. But because of the above, the back seat row seems to have been wisely sacrificed. Screw that, if you are in Europe, you can enjoy the thrilling deep purple color and the killer cyber-Japanese look.

The only thing that doesn’t fit, is the price tag. On par with certain Yaris models and considerably more expensive than others, it’s something I can’t ignore. Just because now you can get a sweet little Fiat 500 for less.

Building a government site is an easy job and only takes a few hours when you don’t give a shit about it. Some fine examples of countries not giving a shit, are my own country and Albania, to name a couple. No wonder people think we are third world (not that it’s far from the truth, either).

The States, on the other hand seem to give a shit about their public image. Great job putting up the new White House site, guys! I believe it was a long, painful, and mundane process, but the result is worth it.

Department of Justice and Attorney-General of Queensland have done wonderful job with this site. Flashy and catchy it grabs your attention and provides valuable information in a funky and unobtrusive manner (well, sounds are a bit too much after the first minute, but that’s not a biggie, as they can be muted). The amount of information is good and definitely does not make you browse hundreds of screens just to find what you might be interested in. So if you are looking towards moving to Queensland, check this site first. Don’t know what’s the purpose of joining the “city”, tho.
