You are not an imbecille, are you? You know there is no free lunch, right? And you suspect the content you upload may be used by someone for something unusual? I mean there would be no spam otherwise, wouldn’t it? Then why the hell are you doing it again and again? To be honest, I also can’t answer that question.

In a world where most of our daily activities are possible the way we are used to as a result of accepting usage agreements, we have developed a new habbit. The “scroll to bottom and press I agree” habbit. That happened because now we have less time to waste and much more interesting things to look at.

Terms of use are probably the most annoying information one may need to read and understand. I admit, I always just scroll down and accept them. They always look generic. And I’m not a lawyer. And I want to use that service. So I need to accept them anyway. And there isn’t something that important in what I am about to share over the service, to make me worry about anything.

I bet you are thinking the same way. At least that part of you who has developed an automated TOS acceptance routine.

But good there are people, who actually tend to read TOS

Not long ago Google launched the long-awaited Chrome. People around me started downloading it and giving it a spin. And then someone posted this on Skype. And all of a sudden everyone freaked out. Everyone, that was too busy testing their projects on Chrome, to read the TOS. Thousands of people. Suddenly they evaluated their work and privacy with the speed of light.

Google regretted the next day. They say it’s an overlook. I say ok, it happens. But what if it was not, and the policy stayed like this? And Google did indeed use anything displayed on Chrome for whatever purpose they might wanted? Would that change our attitude towards TOS and product usage? I think not. After a short pause it would all be back to normal.

But something pretty much identical happened the other day with Facebook’s policy. Basically Facebook decided to slightly twist it, so now they keep full rights over your content, even if you decide to shut your account. Well, that’s funny, but definitely not unexpected.

Still making a good point – I expect people to believe it and start moaning about the economy and stuff. It comes at the perfect time to provoke some redneck raging. But I wonder, what will happen if it turns out to be so? After all, suing and forcing actions for trademark and copyright infringement is the most natural thing in America, isn’t it?

I like Honda’s new CR-V. It’s a nifty little urban SUV, that has undergone some nice design changes. It’s no longer bulky and chunky. Instead, it’s looking like the way more expensive rivals. I will be happy to have one – sweet aluminium 18’s, brown leather, plenty of BHP, accident radar under the bonnet and hey, they claim it’s very green, too! Perfect! But wait… WTF is this cheap-grey-plastic-hand-shower-looking-thing on the door?! Oh, it’s the door handle! Have you ran out of good materials, Honda? And how did you end up with such bright idea, anyway? Oh, I got it – you thought you were building a freaking Mini! Well, I’ll go with Nissan’s Qashqai then.
